Design Installation A Multi-Sensory Experience, Exploring the Ways in Which Our Connection to Art Creates Belonging

In this social mixer, guests will enjoy California tapas that highlight regional flavors drawing from both San Diego and neighboring Mexico along with selected biodynamic, organic wine offerings while meeting local artist Gabriela Domville. Meet Mexican-born Domville as she guides guests through her creative process as seen on the walls of North Park’s Finca and explains how her art is intended to be inclusive, creating connection and belonging at the restaurant and beyond. Domville will discuss how her childhood memories translate into her current work. We’ll explore the roots planted in Oaxaca by Domville’s father, grandparents and great grandparents and how those roots remain in her head, weaving together colors and textures, smells, flavors, voices and sounds that create belonging and sense of place, emitting themselves through her artwork.
