Studio Tour Belonging through Design

Belonging, through our lens of design, is about crafting spaces that evoke nostalgia and provide a timeless refuge from everyday life. At Basile Studio and Jules Wilson Design Studio, inclusivity is foundational, influencing our approach from concept to execution. Through Nobility Hospitality Group, starting with Roseacre Restaurant in La Jolla, we reimagine hospitality with a focus on creating a sense of belonging. Inspired by nostalgic design elements and timeless hospitality practices, Roseacre will remind guests of their favorite travel destinations and cherished experiences. Every detail, from the warm, welcoming ambiance to the personalized service, aims to foster connection and comfort. Our goal is to set a new standard where every guest feels not just welcomed, but truly at home in our spaces, bridging memories of past travels with a sanctuary for relaxation and care.

About the Host

Basile Studio + Jules Wilson Design Studio

Basile Studio

Paul Basile’s commercial, hospitality, and retail projects have earned wide-ranging critical acclaim and multiple awards for Interior Design, Transformative Design, Adaptive Reuse, Sustainability, and Divine Details from organizations including the American Institute of Architects and San Diego Architectural Foundation.

As a 4th generation builder and 1st generation designer, developer, sculptor, and entrepreneur, Paul launched his career with a line of hand-crafted furniture in the early 90’s. As increasing requests for one-off projects poured in, each larger in scale than the last, his attention and expertise grew to encompass the design and fabrication of custom architectural details and building renovations as a licensed general contractor. The doors to BASILE Studio opened in 1994, evolving into a full-service design/build and fabrication studio in 2008. Paul’s diverse background, intrinsic sense of structures, space, and style, exhaustive attention to detail, and perpetual drive to mix traditional design methods with cutting-edge technology is at the core of BASILE Studio’s high-end, pioneering spaces.

Jules Wilson Design Studio

Jules started her career in 1993, working at several acclaimed design and architecture firms in the city, having the chance to work on several multifamily housing, commercial and residential projects before deciding to establish her own firm, Jules Wilson Design Studio, in 2005. Since opening her design studio, she has become an expert that developers, owners, and brands trust to create luxurious and meaningful guest experiences nationwide. In addition, specializes in private residences, delivering San Diego’s most luxurious residential tower, 525 Olive.

Jules Wilson’s studio has spearheaded the historical revitalization and transformation of the 1925 Plunge Public Pool, remaining today as one of the largest indoor pools in Southern California. The venue has kept its old-world charm and allure while gaining a state-of-the-art multilevel luxury beachfront fitness club. This past year completing a vibrant mixed-used development in the heart of Waikiki, Hawaii, is the first new residential tower in over 20 years. The design includes natural materials, terrazzo floors, and a mega wood trellis that undulates from the interior to the exterior of the Banyan tree garden. In addition, she has just completed a four-building multifamily housing complex in a tech community in Northern California. The design intent was modeled off a small neighborhood. Since neighborhoods are made up of different parts, JWDS imagined The Landsby as four distinct living environments that would be appealing to and memorable for the incoming denizens.
