Workshop Designing for the Subconscious: A Clinical Hypnosis x Sound Experience
Sound reaches the subconscious mind before language does. In this 90-minute experiential workshop, you’ll be guided through a hypnosis & sound experience by Caitlin Fahey, clinical hypnotist and sound artist. The soundscape, built from original field recordings captured across San Diego’s coastline and mountain trails and layered with live instrumentation, is designed to guide participants into a deeper trance state.
Clinical hypnosis allows you to create change from the root of your automatic behaviors: the subconscious. Biophilic sound creates safety in the nervous system by activating the parasympathetic response (rest and digest), and slows brainwaves toward alpha and theta states through entrainment. The two combined create a dual sensory experience. And because the brain doesn’t distinguish between real and imagined, the more senses invoked, the deeper it anchors.
No experience with hypnosis or sound work required. Just a willingness to listen differently. Bring a mat and props to get comfortable.
About the Host
Caitlin Fahey
Caitlin Fahey is a clinical hypnotist and sound artist, and the founder of The Good Muck, a San Diego-based practice using clinical hypnosis, breathwork, sound, and yoga nidra to work directly with the subconscious mind. A former litigator and opera singer, she blends evidence-based practice with artistry, recording original soundscapes across San Diego and beyond to design them into pieces that support and deepen trance in her hypnosis work. Her work is an invitation: to listen differently internally and externally, and see what shifts.
