Design Exhibition Huerta x Huerta showcase
This interactive exhibition invites visitors to explore a collection of objects that reflect different stages, materials, and outcomes of my design practice. Rather than focusing only on finished pieces, the exhibition reveals the ideas, experimentation, and making processes behind each project through conversation and storytelling. Throughout the event, guests are encouraged to ask questions, engage with the work, and learn how material exploration, iteration, and craftsmanship shape the final result.
The experience includes a short artist talk introducing the projects and the role of materials in my practice, followed by a hands-on workshop for a small group where participants would create a small wall sconce using some of the same materials and techniques featured in the exhibition. The workshop serves as an accessible introduction to the design process, allowing visitors to experience firsthand how experimentation and making transform ideas into functional objects. No previous experience is required, making the event welcoming to anyone curious about design, creativity, and materials.

Sarah Irene Garcia Huerta / Huerta x Huerta
Sarah Irene García Huerta is a Mexican-American architect, multidisciplinary artist, and founder of Huerta x Huerta, a design practice based in Tijuana, Mexico. Her work explores the relationship between materials, craftsmanship, and spatial experience through furniture, objects, installations, and interiors. Collaborating closely with local artisans and fabricators, she embraces a hands-on, experimental process that bridges concept and production. Through her work, Sarah invites people to engage with design as an accessible, collaborative, and meaningful practice.
