Workshop Ritual by Design: Designing Human Connection Through Tea & Culture

Workshop Ritual by Design: Designing Human Connection Through Tea & Culture

Discover how everyday rituals are intentionally designed to shape the way we connect, slow down, and experience the world. Through the lens of Burmese cultural traditions and Chinese tea practice, this interactive workshop explores how objects, hospitality, storytelling, and mindful rituals become thoughtful design tools that cultivate presence and belonging.

Participants will engage in a guided tea experience, examine the design of traditional tea vessels and cultural objects, and reflect on how simple acts of gathering can foster deeper human connection. Together, we’ll explore how ancient traditions continue to inspire contemporary approaches to experience design, community building, and intentional living.

No prior knowledge of tea or design is required. Whether you’re a designer, artist, educator, or simply curious, you’ll leave with a fresh perspective on how thoughtful design can transform ordinary moments into meaningful experiences.
