Coinciding with the 50th Anniversary of Friendship Park, the Athenaeum is pleased to present BUILD THAT PARK! – the culmination of a four-phase design competition conceived of by San Diego architect James Brown, fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA).
The exhibition will unveil various responses to the challenge of creating a truly binational park, accessible to and shared by the people of both nations. A guided walk-through of the exhibition will take place on Saturday, September 11, from 1-3 p.m.
BUILD THAT PARK! is a project of The Friends of Friendship Park, a non-partisan, grassroots coalition of individuals and organizations advocating for increased public access to the historic meeting place on the U.S./Mexico border since 2005.
