Workshop/Demo One Region One Common Future / Una Región Un Futuro Común Presentación de proyectos de impact /Impact project presentation

One Region, One Common Future is an initiative of the Planning and Placemaking Design to Action Network that seeks to highlight the WDC 2024 impact projects that address, through transformative design, social, environmental, and economic challenges in our binational region. Projects like Temporary Paradise, Friendship Park, Museo del Muro, and the Transnational Association of Schools of Architecture creatively foster more collaboration and integration of binational planning and education and promote a sense of belonging to a region beyond the limits of the border. Therefore, we are moving from a divisive discourse of two countries and two cities to recognizing that we are one region with one common future.

The event consists of a workshop with sessions where the project sponsors will present their work and how they promote social inclusivity and environmental challenges through art, urban design, education, and planning. Furthermore, we will have a participatory planning activity for the community to identify the primary binational issues we must address. The latter is part of a series of workshops and charrettes, whose results will be presented in a policy paper at the November policy conference.
