Project Tour Downtown Public Art Tour with Real Working Public Art Administrators

Are you an art and design enthusiast? Do you want to learn more about art in San Diego’s built environment? The City of San Diego’s public art team shares their passion on this discovery walk through downtown San Diego. On this guided tour you’ll discover and learn about a selection of artworks designed for and integrated into public spaces in the Marina and Embarcadero areas of Downtown. Along the way, you’ll learn about unique histories, elements of design and what’s involved with planning for and developing artwork in both public and private development. Whether you are familiar with generative design processes used by artists or are just discovering them here, this experience gives you a perspective on how public art elevates our shared built environment and encourages you to see and think about art in public places in new ways.

Who: All adults and accompanied children are welcome.
Where: This walking tour focuses on downtown, starting at Children’s Park, 326 W Harbor Dr, San Diego CA, 92101. We will walk approximately 2 miles.
How long: Approximately 2 hours
