Design Exhibition ReVision: An Inclusive Studio & Artmaking Experience
Design Exhibition ReVision: An Inclusive Studio & Artmaking Experience
Revision is a shared studio space that supports and centers disabled artists, and is built on the belief that everyone and everything has purpose. We are opening our Hillcrest studio on Saturday, September 20 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM to invite you to participate in pop-up artmaking experiences inspired by our resident artists, see their work, and learn about our collaborative community projects like the Waterfront Park “Inclusion Mural” and “First Fridays” workshop series. Explore your own authentic, bold voice by trying selected art-making methods of our resident artists, and discover their unique journeys with experience stations mirroring our signature peer-to-peer learning style. Collect references for your personal design practice of bold color and expressive mark making, purposeful re-use of unconventional materials, and the tactile, somatic experience of creation. Customize repurposed and recycled community materials with your own slogans and style, with the option to make and take.
About the Host
Revision Creative Workspace
Revision is built on the belief that everyone, and everything, has purpose. Our workspace is a shared studio, gallery, and community contribution center. Founded in 2017, we are proud pioneers in the mission to provide inclusive access to art, culture and environmental education in San Diego. Revision provides dignified learning and equitable opportunities through the framework of workshops and person centered planning to neurodivergent artists, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our signage and website uses the term “Radical Inclusion” to describe our alignment within the disability rights movement.
