Design Exhibition Belonging by Design: Inclusive Innovation

Design Exhibition Belonging by Design: Inclusive Innovation

Belonging signifies creating spaces, products, and experiences that foster equity and inclusion. It’s about designing environments and tools that ensure everyone feels included and valued, especially those from marginalized communities. Belonging influences design work by driving the creation of solutions that prioritize inclusivity and empathy. It ensures that design decisions are made with a focus on the end-user’s emotional and psychological well-being. Inclusivity is crucial from the initial concept to the final implementation, ensuring that every design aspect considers the diverse needs of users.

This exhibition showcases projects by Mexican students with a real purpose in design, aiming to generate future collaborations and cross-cultural networking through various inclusive approaches, including sustainability, mental health, disabilities, sexual health, gender, and community groups.

The exhibit will feature posters and pictures of the design process and results, as well as physical biotextile swatches for visitors to touch and feel.
