Studio Tour From Pattern to Stitch: Inside Gather Sewing Collective

Tour Description

Explore how this open sewing studio functions as a collaborative space for creative practice. Visitors will get an up-close look at the workspace layout, how the sewing machines and workstations are utilized, and the variety of classes offered—from foundational techniques to garment construction. The tour highlights how the  studio is largely self led but fully supported. Members are encouraged to follow whatever thread of inspiration they have and skilled staff is present to support their vision and implementation. There are also monthly members only ‘foundational skills’ sessions where members and staff  discuss patterns, methods and provide demonstrations related to the monthly sew-a-long project.

‘Gather” is  a local makers space where members can  refine their skills and create well-made clothing designed for long-term wear. They also work on repurposed clothes, mending, bags, home decor among other items.

About the Host

Gather Sewing Collective

Gather Sewing Collective was born in 2024 when studio-mates Molly and Paige paired their sewing expertise, passion, and vision with a community-centered model to build the space they felt was missing. Founded on the belief that sewing is an inherited skill best honored together, Gather transformed what is often a solitary practice into a vibrant, shared space for intentional makers and creative explorers. The studio provides a welcoming environment where generations of textile knowledge are shared, techniques are refined, and mindful design thrives—inviting everyone to help define what the collective becomes.
