Workshop From Wall to Table — Friendship Over Fear
Commissioned by the Friends of International Friendship Park, local sculptor Michael Leaf has taken a section of the U.S.–Mexico border wall and transformed it into mobile tables that roll apart or join together.
The Traveling Tables of Amistad — sculptural tables forged from the border wall itself — remind visitors that structures can change, that stories can be rewritten, that what once divided can now invite us to sit down together. The Friends of International Friendship Park warmly invite you to gather with friends old and new at the Traveling Tables of Amistad. September 15-19, 2026, 1:00 – 2:30 pm, Museum of Us (Balboa Park).
