Design Exhibition Projection Exhibition: Human Made – After Dark
Design Exhibition Projection Exhibition: Human Made – After Dark
What It Is
Human Made: After Dark is a Projection Exhibition that transforms downtown San Diego into a large-scale canvas celebrating the enduring human impulse to imagine, create, and shape the world around us.
Through an open call, designers, artists, architects, students, studios, and creative technologists were invited to create original short-form works exploring the theme of Human Made. Selected pieces come together as a looping projection exhibition spanning disciplines including typography, illustration, motion, architecture, AI, industrial design, fashion, and immersive media.
Projected onto the historic California Theatre, the experience turns architecture into a living gallery and invites the public to experience design at an entirely different scale.
At a moment when technology is rapidly changing how creative work is made, Human Made celebrates the ideas, perspectives, and creative expression that remain distinctly human.
Who It’s For
Designers, artists, filmmakers, architects, animators, creative technologists, students, photographers, makers, and anyone curious about the intersection of creativity, technology, public space, and immersive media.
No design background is needed. Come experience the city itself as the canvas.
