Workshop Seeing Space: An Architectural Photography Workshop
Seeing Space is a guided architectural photography workshop that combines a visual presentation, on-site image making, and an introduction to editing. The workshop begins with a short lecture on composition, perspective, light, lenses, camera settings, smartphone photography, and common tools used in architectural photography. Participants will then explore the site with a series of prompts designed to help them notice scale, material, light, and spatial relationships. The session will conclude with a demonstration of basic editing techniques and a group review of selected images. Designed for all experience levels, the workshop requires only a smartphone or camera. Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of how architecture can be observed, photographed, and refined through intentional editing.
About the Host
Maha Bazzari / studio MAHA
Maha Bazzari is an internationally published architectural photographer, multidisciplinary artist, educator, and founder of studio MAHA. With more than two decades of experience across architecture, interior design, and photography, she brings an architecturally trained eye to photographing light, material, and spatial relationships while clearly communicating design intent. Her work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Dwell, National Geographic, Architecture Magazine, and San Diego Magazine. Based in San Diego, Maha works with architects, designers, institutions, and cultural organizations. She is a professor of photography, offers creative workshops, and remains actively engaged in San Diego’s architecture and design community.
