Celebrate the 5-Year Anniversary of Our Genetic Legacy and the relaunch of the We The People Museum! For one weekend, our virtual museum comes to life through an immersive, family-friendly experience for all ages. Explore our 3D interactive museum, journey to Gberefu Island, Nigeria, uncover the story of the Guerrero shipwreck, fly into Drone Soccer, pilot an underwater ROV, and discover GIS mapping and digital storytelling. Meet Black and Brown professionals in design, architecture, drones, and marine science through inspiring career panels, while enjoying hands-on workshops, live demonstrations, and interactive exhibits that show how design connects our past, present, and future.
About the Host
Our Genetic Legacy
Our Genetic Legacy is a San Diego-based nonprofit that empowers young people to become the next generation of historic preservationists by combining design, technology, and cultural storytelling. Through programs in drones, GIS, marine science, underwater exploration, 3D modeling, and digital storytelling, participants earn industry-recognized certifications, gain hands-on experience using professional tools and technologies, and apply their skills through real-world historic preservation projects. By transforming overlooked Black, Indigenous, and other historically underrepresented narratives into immersive exhibits for the We The People Museum, Our Genetic Legacy connects communities to their past while preparing youth for careers in STEAM, the blue economy, geospatial technology, aviation, and the creative industries.
